The cinema building occupies the rear courtyard of a historic building on the main square of Košice. Despite the restrictive spatial situation, Oelschläger addressed the commission as a fully valid building, making use of the entire gamut of his favoured architectural details. The entrance to the cinema hall is accentuated by six columns expanding conically upwards, with electric lights in place of capitals; on the upper floor are raised arcaded windows and crowning the facade is a high cornice also with an arched motif. In this highly concentrated display of Oelschläger’s characteristic touches, it is also possible to find parallels with the work of the Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.
