The tomb is an original interpretation of the motif of a stylised stone urn. The materials and form react to the natural context of the Ružomberok cemetery, placed at the centre of a raised terrace framed by a wall of rough-dressed stone blocks. The smooth travertine urn with its simple cross stands on a low rectangle bearing the carved inscription "Pamiatke Makovických rodiny" [In Memory of the Makovicky Family]. The Cubistic interpretation of the design documents the architect’s movement away from the Classicist tendencies of rural cemeteries towards a more abstract modern aesthetic.
