The building of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Slovak University of Technology is part of the block of university buildings between Radlinského and Mýtná Street and at the same time closes the south-eastern side of Námestie slobody. This building is one of the best works of the architect. It has the dynamism and structural boldness of structuralism in the 1960s, and at the same time it has the seriousness that was expected of academia at the time. It consists of three separate units: the main building, which is characterized by a calm rhythm of aluminum profiles and cantilevered auditoriums, a two-storey cube of heavy laboratories and a large hall covered with a steel rope structure, from which is suspended ceiling with paintings by Ladislav Gandl.
