In a spirit of simple modernism using natural materials for expressive forms, Pavol Merjavý designed the museum of the national park in the village of Tatranská Lomnica. The object consists of a horizontal entrance part (with offices and conference room), and the exhibition section, under a peaked roof of triangular cross-section using wooden beaks. The triangular gable facing the main facade is structured by its covering with log-sections, and supplemented with a sculpture by Juraj Bartusz. The simple geometrical composition and the clear interior arrangements make this design characteristic of the old tradition of vernacular building in the Tatra mountains.
