The shopping centre was designed as part of important public facilities centered around the main communication axis of the housing estate, Saratovská street. Modern individual volumes of shopping centers, post offices, medical centers together with the house of culture had the ambition to give this four-lane road the character of a modern city boulevard. The Saratov shopping center consisted of a complex structure of separated indoor retail spaces and open or covered outdoor public spaces. These public spaces were completed by a set of monumental decorative sculptures by the academic sculptor Ľudmila Cvengrošová. The core of the spatial concept was a partially covered shopping street passing through the center of the building, into which the individual shops were oriented. At the beginning of the 21st century, the building was rebuilt, using its original construction and to some extent also preserving the spatial solution.
