The Chrenová housing estate I and II represented the first stage of building on the left bank of Nitra river. The estate is characterised by generous spatial design with extensive green areas. The architect M. M. Scheer was able to give the prefabricated houses a takeoff and optimistic lightness with a simple composition of standardized houses in the form of an isosceles letter Y (three-storey and thirteen-storey type). The housing blocks are composed in clusters supplemented by pavilion structure of public facilities. Thanks to the generous urban design and nonstandard housing blocks the settlement became one of the best post-war housing complexes in Slovakia.
