Smaragd represents the second phase of the comprehensive development of the spa in Dudince. Architecturally, it follows on from the Rubín sanatorium, completed in 1966, to which it is connected by a covered corridor. The sanatorium, designed for 222 patients, consists of two compact wings arranged in a V-shaped floor plan. The straight wing is defined by long bands of loggia railings. The second wing has a more sculptural contour with stepped, recessed balconies. From the entrance hall on the ground floor, there is access to the dining room, common areas, administrative offices, and the medical wing. The hotel lobby at the rear opens into a large café with a gallery and an espresso bar. The first floor houses club rooms and a library with a reading room. The second through sixth floors feature comfortably furnished single and double rooms with private bathrooms, as well as five suites.
