The building, which has the inscription Pavilion of Theoretical Institutes in ceramic tiles, was designed by Emil Belluš at the end of the 1940s for some theoretical institutes of the Slovak Technical University. There were spaces for teaching mathematics, physics and especially architecture. In the 1990s, it became exclusively the place of the Faculty of Architecture of the Slovak University of Technology. Its architecture is a good example of the traditional tendencies around the middle of the century, although its main facades are uncompromisingly simple with a number of functionalist themes. However, the symmetrical layout with a large foyer and two staircases is reminiscent of the surrounding Baroque palaces, as well as the interior architectural details. On the ground floor of the right wing is a series of realistic reliefs, which the architect accepted for the building at the time of its construction in 1949. However, he resisted excessive decoration and created a serious and dignified work.
